In the <strong>Grotta dei Gamberi<\/strong>, near <strong>Cala Galera<\/strong>, the seabed is covered with tiny, delicious shrimps and ethereal feather duster worm structures.<\/p>\n<p>On Lipari in the <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/eolie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aeolian islands<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/lipari\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>, the contrasting shades of the blue sea and white pumice at <strong>Punta Castagna<\/strong> will take your breath away, and there are lively rocky seabeds near the <strong>Sciara di Fuoco<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/stromboli\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stromboli<\/a> which have myriads of sponges and soft corals among their black volcanic rocks. You can explore the underwater crater by <strong>Pollara<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/salina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salina<\/a>, or another <strong>Grotta dei Gamberi<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/filicudi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Filicudi<\/a>. On <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/panarea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Panarea<\/a> you can see some intensive underwater fumarole activity simply by going snorkelling. This phenomenon is due to the escape of the volcanic gas pressing on the earth&#8217;s crust. These fascinating fumaroles can be seen in all volcanic areas and in the Aeolian islands.<\/p>\n<p>On the Tyrrhenian coast, Patti, in the province of Messina, is a great place to <strong>explore by freediving<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/patti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/messina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"\/?p=8261\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pantelleria<\/a>, you can explore the evocative and particularly deep <strong>Punta Spadillo<\/strong> (the seabed is nearly 200 metres deep only a short distance from the coast).<\/p>\n<p>The island of <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/egadi-favignana-levanzo-marettimo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marettimo<\/a>, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/egadi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aegadian<\/a> archipelago, is the ideal place to go cave diving, taking all the necessary precautions; near the <strong>Cattedrale <\/strong>you can dive down to visit a majestic cave with stalactites and stalagmites at a depth of 30 metres.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/pelagie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Linosa<\/a>, an island in the <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/pelagie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pelagie<\/a> archipelago, has numerous dive sites. One of the most beautiful is <strong>Secchitella<\/strong>, with two pinnacles at depths of 4 and 12 metres which go down as far as 70 metres!<\/p>\n<p>As well as beautiful beaches, <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/lampedusa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lampedusa<\/a> has fantastic diving spots perfect for both experts and those with less experience.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no shortage of wrecks! In addition to the allure of untamed nature, you&#8217;ll also find evidence of human activity submersed for decades, if not centuries, on Sicily&#8217;s seabeds: the Kent, a motor vessel also known as the <strong>Nave dei Corani<\/strong>, near the <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/riserva-zingaro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/trapani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trapani<\/a>), at a depth of between 45 and 50 metres; the Roman remains of Cala Gadir on <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/localita\/pantelleria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pantelleria<\/a>, with fragments of a Punic and a Roman ship; and the wreck of the <strong>Lisca Bianca<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/visitsicily.altrama.com\/panarea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Panarea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a
