Calamosche and San Lorenzo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Near Syracuse<\/a>, Calamosche<\/strong> beach is located in the Wildlife Oasis<\/a> of Vendicari<\/a>,<\/strong> near Baroque Noto<\/a>. A wonderful cove measuring 200 metres is squeezed between two rocky promontories full of ravines and caves, with lush and fragrant Mediterranean scrub and a calm and clear sea. Not far away, the beach of San Lorenzo<\/strong> is also beautiful.<\/p>\n

Isola dei Conigli<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are in Lampedusa<\/a>. The beach is right in front of the Isola dei Conigli<\/a> (Rabbit Island), which can be reached by a quick swim or on foot when a strip of sand emerges at low tide. It is a corner of Africa in Sicily with very diverse marine fauna. Caretta caretta turtles come here to lay their eggs. A water glistens with infinite shades of blue, so it’s no coincidence that it was beloved by Domenico Modugno. La Spiaggia dei Conigli is listed in the top ten of the most beautiful beaches in the world (2021) according to Tripadvisor!<\/p>\n

Riserva dello Zingaro<\/a> (and surroundings), between Palermo<\/a> and Trapani<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scopello and San Vito Lo Capo<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a stretch of coast that combines two of the most fascinating of the seaside towns on the whole island: Scopello<\/strong><\/a>, a paradise of biodiversity with its imposing sea stacks and delightful village, and the very popular San Vito Lo Capo<\/a>, with its beautiful beach that often turns pink, which seems to have been transported here directly from the Caribbean. With its coves and beaches with very clear sea beds, the reserve is an intense expression of the unspoiled Mediterranean scrub, which includes dwarf palms, olive trees and fragrant evergreens.<\/p>\n

Scala dei Turchi<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located along the coast between Realmonte<\/strong> and Porto Empedocle, Scala dei Turchi<\/a> will leave you speechless. It is a truly unique place with a very white rocky wall composed of limestone and clay that forms “steps”, making it a fascinating example of nature’s ability vary the landscape in ever-changing forms.<\/p>\n

Torre Salsa<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the longest beaches, for years it has been classified as a nature reserve<\/a> and it is exactly the place we dream of going to in times of stress. It extends from Siculiana<\/strong> to Eraclea Minoa<\/strong> (Agrigento<\/a>). It can be accessed from several points and, like all precious gems, it is fairly well hidden. Because of this and the lack of services available, it remains a dreamlike place.<\/p>\n

San Leone<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most fashionable stretch of shore in Agrigento<\/a>, it is a very long beach with fine golden sand. It consists of a succession of lidos that turn into open-air pubs in the evening, attracting the young Agrigento party-goers. As the sea is often whipped up by the wind it is also a favourite destination for surfers.<\/p>\n

Mondello<\/strong><\/p>\n

Palermo’s<\/a> beach par excellence. The very light sand serves as a palette for the sea, the sun and the clouds, which paint infinite shades ranging from turquoise to emerald green over it. These are colours that remain etched in your memory. The long beach, lined with palm trees and art nouveau villas scattered here and there, is perfect from spring to autumn, including for children<\/a>. From May to September it is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas and with characteristic multi-coloured wooden cabins. A stone’s throw away is the ancient seaside village with many places where you can taste typical dishes and, in the small harbour you can gaze on the colourful fishing boats.<\/p>\n

Isola Bella<\/strong><\/p>\n

A short distance from the glamor of Taormina<\/a>, a thin strip of white sand joins the coast to a rock with an abundance of greenery, an ideal place for a swim in an exciting setting. It is no coincidence that Isola Bella<\/strong> is known as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”.<\/p>\n

Oliveri (Messina)<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the wonderful beach that can be seen from the sanctuary in Tindari<\/a>. Here nature has sculpted elongated lakes. The strips of sand intrigue from above and make you want to see them up close. They are located at the end of the beach and it is nice to take a walk and a swim in this unique setting.<\/p>\n

Punta Secca<\/strong><\/p>\n

For fans of “Montalbano”, one glance will be enough to recognise the imaginary Vigata<\/em> beach, the one that can be seen from the windows of the famous inspector’s house. We are in the province of Ragusa<\/a> and it is worth getting to know it in person: its golden beach is captivating.<\/p>\n

Porto Palo di Menfi <\/strong><\/p>\n

From Menfi<\/strong> (Agrigento<\/a>) to Capo Granitola<\/strong> and then up to Mazara del Vallo<\/a> (Trapani<\/a>) there is a succession of sandy beaches. That of Porto Palo<\/strong> has a particular charm with its seaside air and the feeling of being far removed from the chaos. On the seafront, we find typical places for delicious dinners made from fresh fish caught in the morning, washed down with the excellent white wine typical of the area.<\/p>\n

Capo d’Orlando<\/strong><\/p>\n

The famous Capo d’Orlando beach<\/a>, near Messina<\/a>, facing the Aeolian<\/a> Islands, consists of a very long expanse (8 kilometres) where we can admire glorious sunrises and sunsets depending on the viewpoint.<\/p>\n

Sampieri<\/strong><\/p>\n

This fishing village near Scicli<\/a> (Ragusa<\/a>) has a beautiful and long beach flanked by a pine forest, soft dunes and evocative example industrial archaeology, namely the Fornace Penna built in the early 1900s to produce clay bricks.<\/p>\n
